    um….no “expenses” are not disposable income…they’re “expenses”…
If an exec takes a business trip and pays for it out of his pocket….he can write it off. If you take a trip for business, you too can write off out-of-pocket expenses….the system is already clear-cut and fair.
parents are already given tax breaks for their children (dependants)…what they do with that money is their choice…
…also, if you could write off tuition…wouldn’t that be a big break for the “rich” too…? After all, a year at Harvard is a heck of a lot more than a year at community college…why should the “rich” be able to write that off?

It’s hard to argue against your suggestion for additional child-care deductions, though some are already deductible. But there’s a slip in the gears on the other half of your argument. Indeed, most of the business deductions in the tax code were put into place by Democratic legislation, and are sensible. Those deductions make the company more competitive in the world market, increasing profits and thereby increasing tax revenues. There’s a big difference between tax rates and tax income. Bush the Elder can be credited with a college tax credit, but it’s a drop in the bucket.

Child care and college are not required. My mother stayed home with me….and in fact most parents could actually afford if some of the toys they had were thrown away ie plasma tv,computers, cell phones, entertainment centers, new cars etc. Why should i have to pay for the fact you want to work and keep those nifty gadgets? And plus college is not a right for all people. Just because your kid decides to go why should i have to pay for it? Believe me most kids in college today shouldn’t be there anyway.

No, we should replace our entire earnings theft system (income tax) with a flat rate paid by everybody who gets paid. We should eliminate ALL deductions. No one can justify allowing a person with children who put a burden on society to pay LESS because of that burden than a person who has no children.

You do realize theres a difference between driving to work and flying to another state or country.
Edit: Also the Government doesn’t cover the cost of the private planes. The company has to absorb the costs.

I agree completely and this is a typical example of welfare for the rich, at the expense of the poor. The whole tax system has to be reconfigured to have the rich pay more.

    “amnesty”?
When did child care and tuition become criminal offenses?
